Nissan Pathfinder
STATUS: New-generation model expected for 2020 - The Pathfinder continues to be a popular choice among buyers needing enough seats for themselves and their younger family members. The standard V-6 operates through a continuously variable transmission and is rated at a healthy 284 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive is standard, while Nissan's All-Mode 4x4 is optional. With it, you can select either two- or four-wheel-drive, or engage the "Auto" setting and let the system make the call, based on traction. The second-row split-folding seat comes with plenty of fore and aft travel and can be tipped forward to access the third row even if a child's booster seat has been attached (the available split-folding third row seat also reclines). Although details are scarce as of this writing, it's expected that the 2020 Pathfinder will receive completely new sheetmetal, a more efficient engine and the return of a hybrid model (the previous hybrid was cancelled after the 2015 model year).
